How You Will Become A Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader in 2025: The Ultimate Guide

Although becoming a DCC is not an easy undertaking, I am confident that you will succeed if this is your goal and you truly want it. This guide will help you reach your goal in becoming a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.

The article’s image is showing Kelli Finglass as a DCC. She is the current director of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, and might soon be your coach, so remember her name!

Before We Start

You should either make notes, pin the website or save this article in your ‘Favourites’ as it will supply you with all of the basic information that you require in becoming a part of the next DCC team.

Let’s Start With The Basics: Preparation

Research
Always do your research before starting an unfamiliar task. From starting a new job to embarking on a hiking trip, this is applicable to everything. You should be familiar with some names and facts about the DCC. It also would not hurt to learn some dates and traditions. Why should they want you to be a part of the team if you are not interested enough in them to do some research beforehand?

Fitness
Being physically healthy is an essential requirement for becoming a DCC. Achieving the high degree of physical fitness that this sport demands – and that this team in particular wants to see – is quite challenging. Don’t wait until tomorrow to begin your workout; start today. Every day matters from now on!

Dedication
You have to really want to be on this team because you can’t just quit when you don’t feel like it. Long seasons, difficult game days, the necessity to be prepared in all weather conditions, and let’s not even begin to list all the other duties an American Sweetheart must fulfil with a mountain of grace and patience!

Work On Your Confidence

Oh, I understand that this one is challenging.

It is really difficult to have self-assurance and to constantly strive to believe in oneself, especially when all you want to do sometimes is to give up and hide under your blanket with some snacks.

Confidence is a skill that can be learned, though; nobody is just plainly born with it. And you too can learn to be confident. Do what you can to get out of your comfort zone. Use every opportunity!

Being a DCC requires you to dance in front of large crowds, with cameras focused on your face and videos that remain online for everyone to see now and in the future. In addition, meeting a lot of people and conducting interviews are among the other responsibilities a DCC will have to do.

Speaking to others needs confidence, and you must grow accustomed to being in front of the camera. Believe me when I tell you that all of this is doable and you are the one that can do it. I do not need to know you personally in order to promise you that. You are capable of learning and mastering this if you really set your mind to it.

Just remember to be consistent and to get started right away – don’t wait till tomorrow!

Show Interest via Social Media

Follow the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders on Social Media Platforms.

This shows interest and helps you to get even more familiar with the team members and their practices. Leave positive and kind comments on their posts. Never pass judgement. Thumber from Bambi once said, “if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all”.

Not missing any significant news is a benefit of keeping up with DCC on all social media channels.

To get ready for the DCC, there are a number of workshops you can take, and there are also informal Q&A sessions where you can ask questions and get some more insight.

Your Application

You don’t need to worry about the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders’ application process. It’s actually pretty easy. As soon as registration opens, an online application form will be accessible.

Photos and Clothing
A current headshot of you is required. While maintaining a professional appearance, it shouldn’t resemble your passport photo. Smile! (:
Dress however you choose. There should also be a full-length photo of you dressed in form-fitting workout clothes.

Short Videos
They ask that you submit a 20-second introduction video in which you provide your name, age, hometown, and a few facts about yourself.
You will also need to submit a 60-second dance performance video displaying your best dance moves to some good, upbeat music. This is so important since one of the most crucial aspects of joining this team is your dancing skills and your flexibility, which the head director, Kelli, will pay VERY close attention to.

Tips: For your video performance, opt to wear a crop top and short shorts to give Kelli and Judi an idea of what you could look like in your DCC outfit. Also, a ponytail is NOT appropriate. Keep your hair open. A Dallas Cowboys cheerleader’s hair is never worn in a bun while they are representing the team.

The Audition

Congratulations if you received an audition invitation! Keep applying if you haven’t received an invitation yet. Since there are just a few slots available and there are so many amazing dancers, it is difficult to get on the team. Keep trying; it’s not personal at all. They don’t even know you…YET!

Outfit
Be sure to wear a dance costume that is form-fitting. From the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Netflix show, you can get ideas for what to wear to the audition. Show off your legs and belly, and don’t be afraid to emphasise your best features. The outfit should match the style of the DCC uniform, which is stylish, flattering, and athletic. Come with dance shoes or boots that fit well and won’t fly off your feet when you do a high kick. I wish to prevent you from experiencing this, as I’m sure it has happened before.

Hair and Makeup
Your hair should be styled and open. Beach waves or curls would be ideal. Neither too little nor too much makeup should be applied. It should complement your already gorgeous face and not take attention away from your overall performance. The audition is the first step in being camera ready at all times as a DCC.

The Audition Dance
To ensure that your audition dance is flawless, get ready far in advance. This is not the time to make mistakes. I promise it won’t take more than a minute or two when you are performing in front of the DCC judges. Depending on the year of the audition, the time frame may vary. Get ready to dance in a way that highlights your greatest features. Perhaps you could incorporate a small amount of your native dance style if you are from a certain region of the world. Think about Anisha from the Netflix show, who has chosen to dedicate 10 seconds of her performance to her home country India. She truly stood out because of this, and it was amazing to watch.
